Compignano is a delightful medieval village with no more than 100 inhabitants. There is a coffee/bar in the main piazza and a small supermarket open twice a week. The immediate area is ideal for country walks or gentle bike rides. During the Christmas and the New Year period, the village plays host to a charming and well-known live nativity event in which locals dress up and re-enact the times of Christ. Very worthwhile seeing and one-of-a-kind!
